Mergers and acquisitions, the hot topic at PIANY’s Long Island RAP

Alexander W. Sica to discuss how current market trends will affect insurance agents

GLENMONT, N.Y.—The Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc. will welcome Alexander W. Sica, president and founder of SICA Consultants Inc., as the keynote speaker during its annual Long Island Regional Awareness Program. More than 450 insurance professionals are expected to attend the event, which will be held Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Leonard’s of Great Neck, Great Neck, N.Y., from 7 a.m. to 5:40 p.m.

The Long Island RAP is a daylong event designed to help insurance producers serve their clients, serve their businesses and serve the insurance industry.

Sica’s extensive background in the financial services industry was the foundation and inspiration for the formal incorporation of SICA consultants in 1991. The firm has an extensive understanding of mergers and acquisitions. Sica will draw from his knowledge when he discusses the history and the current conditions of the insurance marketplace in relation to mergers and acquisitions. He also will outline how the trends of the marketplace will affect agents and their businesses.

“Sica’s firm is one of the leading mergers and acquisitions consultants nationally with a strong emphasis on the East Coast,” said Long Island RAP Committee Chair Peter Resnick. “Those who attend Long Island RAP are sure to walk away with an understanding of how their businesses may be affected by the shifting dynamic as agencies join together or are sold to other agencies.”

During the keynote luncheon, the 2007 Louis A. Morelli Memorial award will be presented. In addition to the keynote address, attendees will have access to education sessions, which have been approved for continuing education credits; and the sold-out trade show, where they will have the opportunity to increase their base of business contacts and take a look at the latest insurance products that are available.
