Alexander W. Sica,
President and Founder
Alexander W. Sica, the President and Founder of Sica Consultants, has
earned a reputation for integrity, professionalism and a no-nonsense style
that has secured favorable results for a long list of clients.
Al's extensive background
in the financial services industry was the foundation and inspiration for
the formal incorporation of Sica Consultants in 1991. The firm quickly
distinguished itself as one of the leading mergers and acquisitions
consultants on the East Coast.
Al earned his B.A. in
Communications from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York. He
also holds a New Jersey Consultants license as well as the Life, Health
and Property and Casualty Insurance licenses from the the state of New
Jersey.
Robert Barilla, Managing Partner
Bob
brings over 20 years of merger and acquisition and strategic planning
experience. Bob was SVP of the Corporate Planning Department and Director
of Mergers and Acquisition for Summit Bancorp.
Summit had approximately $45 billion in assets, for which Bob assisted in
completing over 30 acquisitions contributing over $15 billion in assets.
While at Summit, he assisted in the successful completion of six insurance
agency acquisitions which formed one of the largest bank-owned insurance
agencies with over $60 million in commission income.
Bob is also founder and President of Cedar Hill Advisor, a financial
institutions merger and acquisition and valuation advisory firm.
Bob earned an MBA at LaSalle University and is a Chartered Financial
Analyst.
John McDermott, Managing Partner
John is a 1973 graduate of
Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Before joining Sica Consultants, John
had 26 years of experience as an insurance agency owner, serving as
President of McDermott Boyer Group, a Property & Casualty and Group
Benefits insurance firm. John holds a brokers license for Property &
Casualty, as well as for Life & Health insurance. He also holds a
Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation and a New Jersey
Consulting License.
John's responsibilities in the Merger & Acquisition arena begin with the
sourcing and development of Merger & Acquisition opportunities and then
carry forward onto the completion of the transaction. He also serves as
the director of Sica's Executive Search division.
John fully comprehends the challenges of running an insurance agency. He
walks the walk and talks the talk of the agency owner. He understands
their needs and concerns and he puts his experience to good use in working
with the Sica Consultants team to help agency owners realize their goals.
